MARCEL GABRIEL AUBIN Born: April 26, 1926 in St. Adolphe, Manitoba It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dad, pépère, grand-pépère and dear friend. Marcel passed away peacefully, at home, on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the age of 91 years young. He was predeceased by the love of his life Yvette in 2011, after 62 years of marriage; brothers Médéric, Aimé and Arthur; granddaughter Carmen Aubin; grandson Joey Stott; and parents Philippe and Alice Aubin (née Sylvestre). Left to cherish his memory are his children Diane Kuehn (Lawrence), Jeannette Aubin, Raynald Aubin (Denise), Raymond Aubin (Shirley), Roger Aubin (Diane) and Mona Stott (Jeff); 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren - with one more to arrive any day; siblings Laurette, Laurent (Annie), Jeannine (Neil); and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was a silent leader. He inspired many through his strong work ethic, his commitment to his family, and his "joie de vivre". He enjoyed outdoor camping with his wife, family and friends, travels down South, working in his yard, and visits from his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Cathedral Manor (his home for the past eight years), St. Boniface and Concordia Hospital over the last few months, and in his final days the Palliative Community Program, the Family-Managed Care Program - not to mention the numerous family members and friends who were at his side. A celebration of Dad's life will be held at St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. preceded by prayers and viewing at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad's memory can be made to support missionary works in Bolivia through the Centre Missionnaire Oblat, 1215 rue de la Visitation, Montréal, QC H2L 3B5.
