GAIL CHRISTINE GAFFNEY (nee FOSTER) December 11, 1951 - February 11, 2018 Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gail Christine Gaffney on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Concordia Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Alan Gaffney and her parents, Jim and Helen Foster. She will be lovingly remembered by many cousins and friends. Gail was born and raised in Winnipeg where she attended Hastings School and Glenlawn Collegiate. She worked at East-West Packers and J.M. Schneider. She later worked for the Government of Canada in the Agriculture Department until her early retirement. Gail was known for her kindness and love for animals. She would often take in strays, be seen feeding geese or giving treats to cats and dogs she would come across during her many bike rides. Her hobbies included cooking, attending garage sales, enjoying pizza and especially playing the VLTs. Special thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care. A celebration of Gail's life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gail's memory to the charity of your choice.
