CARL HAROLD STEELE Carl Harold Steele was called to our Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Grace Hospital. Carl worked for Canadian National Railways from 1956 to 1987, primarily in Winnipeg, but he did have a brief stint in Montreal. After retiring from CNR, he took a contract assignment in Brazil, which laid the groundworks for his travel lust: he and his wife, Isabelle, literally travelled around the world, visiting all seven continents at least once. He will be missed by his wife, Isabelle, his son Douglas and his wife Louise, his two granddaughters Christine (Allen Rogalsky) and Elizabeth (Cameron Craig), and his great-grandchildren Tabitha and Amos Rogalsky, and Audrey Craig and Craiglet #2. Visitation will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, with the funeral being held at Mary, Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive on Friday, February 23 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that you make a donation in Carl's name to your favourite charity. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Our deepest condolences Aunt Isabel, Douglas and Family. Uncle Carl is remembered fondly. I have numerous memories of your frequent visits to Saskatoon to visit our family throughout the years. I'm sure Carl, Paul, and granny are looking down enjoying a nice glass of red wine discussing the issues of the day; and finding solutions to any engineering questions like they used to do late into the evening, sitting around the kitchen table. • Dear Isabelle, Douglas and family, Thinking of you and wishing you moments of peace and comfort as you remember the many memories that you all shared. While we didn't see each other often, I have fond memories of the times we spent together, especially when you were living in Montreal.
