KATHERINE ELIZABETH SCHWEAN Katherine Elizabeth Schwean passed away peacefully at Luther Home, February 17, 2018 at the age of 93. Born in Winnipeg February 27, 1924 to parents Katherine Elisabeth and George Adam Schwean. Katherine was preceded by parents, sisters Lilly and Molly, and brothers Adam and Jack. Katherine is sadly missed by her grandson Bradley, daughter-in-law Barbara, son Darryl, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will remember her kindness and generosity. Katherine retired from Canada Packers after 25 years. She loved to sew and quilt. Katherine also made spectacular hand stitched quilts for family members. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Funeral service will take place at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Viewing will take place one hour prior. Katherine will be buried in the family plot at Brookside Cemetery alongside her parents. Special thanks to Barbara Sampson who was always there for Katherine in her later years and to the nurses and staff of Luther Home for the excellent care provided to her in her final days. Katherine's spirit and love of family will live in the memory of those she has left behind. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
