Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN GEORGE HOWSON June 24, 1928 - February 16, 2018 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. John passed peacefully on February 16, 2018, at the age of 89. He was born on June 24, 1928 in Brockville, ON. John is survived by his daughter, Nancy Kotz (Jim); and three sons: Jeffrey, Daryl (Beth) and Peter (Shirley); brother, Dwane; grandchildren: Leah, Jeffrey, Brett, Ryan, Allan, Kaitlyn and Alexander; great-grandchildren Freyja, Thorben, Aesir, Jazmyn and Logan. John was predeceased by his parents George and Ellen (Anderson), his sisters (Lillian and Donna) and brother Irwin (Ruth). A private viewing was held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion. Uncle John was my favourite who always made an effort to visit his sister Lillian (my mom) and family's niece BC. When my late husband Joe and I retired to the little town in Lumby BC in 2006, he and my Aunt Bernice came and spent the winter in our little cottage on our property. It was so nice to have that time with them. I tracked him down in Dec 2014 and had a long conversation with him on the phone and he updated me on what was happening in his life. That was the last time I talked to him. So sad that I was not informed of his passing.
