CLARENCE LAWRENCE WIEBE May 29, 1930 - February 20, 2018 With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Clarence went home peacefully to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with his wife by his side. He is survived by his wife Vera; children, Wendy (Brandon) and David (Nicolle); grandchildren, Leona (Justin), Celina (Curtis), Amara, Logan, Ashley, Aaron and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Lilly; his sister Norma Sawatzky; and his brother Alvin (Helen). He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Anna Wiebe; his brother (Archibald) Archie; sister-in-law Clara; and his brother-in-law Dave Sawatzky. Clarence was born in the R.M of Rhineland located near Roseisle and Carmen, Manitoba, and worked the farm with his parents and siblings. He loved the Lord, and gave his life to Jesus as a teenager when he took the youth to church and Sunday school gatherings. Later in life he worked on the CN Railway lines at the Dakota Siding and then took on the job of Superintendent of the Arlington Senior Citizen Home for many years. Clarence was a caring and loving person. He had the spirit of a servant, and always loved to help others. He loved to play his guitar and mouth organ together, Western style, with cowboy boots and hat and would sing and yodel at many church and other Christian events. When he retired, he took on a part time job as doorman/valet for Akman at the Hampton IV condos, and he loved the job. He met a lot of interesting people, and was a joy to have around. He will be sadly missed by those who knew him. His last two years were spent in the Calvary Place Personal Care Home, and while there the staff would tease him and ask him if he liked their cooking. Clarence would answer back, "Don't cook tonight, call Chicken Delight." That became his favourite saying. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2018, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Interment to follow. A big thank you to all the staff, care workers, and nurses at Calvary Place Personal Care Home who were so devoted and took such good care of Clarence during his last two years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clarence's name to the Calvary Place Personal Care Home.
