Awe, I am so very sorry to hear of Lovie's passing. I helped Lovie out at her home for 7 years or so. I thoroughly enjoyed planting her flowers and making baskets. Lovie would come outside in her one-piece turquoise swimsuit, orange lipstick and bright green eye shadow, and would pick weeds while I planted. We always got some strange looks from passers-byers! But we would have so much fun. She liked to tell me stories from her youth, and spoke a lot about her late husband. I knew she was a very lonely lady, and I wished that she had more family in her life. Lovie was a handful and a feisty lady, and if she liked you, she loved you, but if she didn't, she would let you know. She was always very kind to me and generous, always remembering my birthday and giving me a little something at Christmas. I always got her a mini Christmas tree, so that her house was somewhat festive over the holidays. I would bring her some baking from time to time, she loved butter tarts and shortbread cookies. Then one day I brought her a McDonald's cheeseburger, and every time after that, she would ask if I brought her "anything special today". I noticed a change in her the last time I saw her just before Christmas. I was very shocked when I read her obituary, and was very saddened that I did not have the opportunity to say good-bye. I am happy that you are now at peace and no longer suffering. Rest well Lovie, I am honored that I was part of your life for a time. - Posted by: Rhonda McLean (friend) on: Mar 06, 2018
