Jeannine est née à Toulon, France le 12 octobre 1929 et a déménagé au Canada à 17 ans. Avec son mari Edouard, ils étaient notre pilier familial. Jeannine adorait les enfants et en a pris soin pendant une grande partie de sa vie. Elle était très fière de ses petits et arrières-petits-enfants, qu'elle gâtait beaucoup. Jeannine était très talentueuse. Elle était une couturière par excellence, elle tricotait, crochetait et coloriait les plus beaux dessins qu'elle nous donnait en cadeaux à Noël. Elle adorait aller à Plage Albert dans le chalet que son Edouard avait bâti! JEANNINE FRANCOISE GIASSON (née BOTHOREL) Our dear mother, mémé, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully, in her sleep, on February 25, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Jeannine was born in Toulon, France on October 12, 1929 and moved to Canada at the age of 17. She met her husband Edouard Giasson in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. Jeannine leaves to mourn her four daughters: Marie-France (Curt Lother) and their children Sylvain, Nicholas (Brooklyn Brunel), Daniel (Nicole); Jeannine (Richard Chester) and their children Renae (Brad Dnes), Stephanie (Wes Anderson), Matthew (Kiera); Florette (Robert Zmavc) and their daughter Katrina; Elaine (John Karras) and their children Erik (Natalie Van Rosmalen), Dominique, Lia and Victoria. She also leaves to mourn her great-grandchildren: Aidan, Nolan, Ben, Kelsey, Isla and Kai; her beloved brother Jean Bothorel and his wife Jeanne. Jeannine was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Edouard Giasson, and by her parents Jean-Pierre and Marie Bothorel, as well her brother Julien and his wife Jeannette Bothorel. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. with eulogy beginning at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, March 2 at Eglise Saint-Eugène, 1007 St. Mary's Road. Interment will be at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matthew Chester, Erik St-Hilaire, Daniel Lother, Nicholas Lother, Brad Dnes and Wes Anderson.
