RAYMOND MAZUR August 31, 1940 - February 28, 2018 Raymond Mazur passed away on February 28, 2018, at St. Boniface Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his wife Joyce of 54 years; his children, Wayne (Keri) and Lindsay (Mark). He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Miela, Matias, Grace-Lyn, and Tessa; as well as extended family and friends. Ray is predeceased by his mother and father Kay and Joe Mazur; his brother Bernie Mazur; and his sister Audrey Halayko. Ray was raised on a farm in Allegra, MB until he moved to Winnipeg in 1963. One year later he married the love of his life Joyce and they raised two children together. Ray was very passionate about his work in the sign industry and continued to work part time up until his illness. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling with his friends. When not enjoying the outdoors, Ray was very busy in a lot of social settings including his bowling club, coffee with friends, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The family would like to thank the amazing staff of the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit, especially Dr. Gilroy, Dr. Cheng, and all of the nurses who helped make his last days with us comfortable. A thank you also to Dr. Law for helping Ray and Joyce through this tough time. A special thank you also to all the family and friends who stood vigil by his bedside so he would never be alone. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6 or CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
