RITA MCGUIRE (nee KELL) December 22, 1945 - February 24, 2018 It is with sadness that the family announces Rita's passing. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Terry, daughter Kay, sons Terry Jr. and David, grandson Malachi, and sister Linda. Rita was born in Birkenhead, England in 1945 and married the love of her life, Terry on March 19, 1966. They moved to Winnipeg in 1975. Mom was a fun loving, caring person. When she was young, she loved to dance and watch the Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers rise to fame. She would go to see the Merseyside groups live with her friends. Mom had a lovely manner to all people she met. She was very generous natured and full of fun. She loved life and was very involved with community. She volunteered with several community groups in Birkenhead, including kids clubs, Keepfit and bingo to try and raise funds for those who were trying to find work. In Winnipeg, she was a volunteer in two schools. She was also a volunteer for House League Soccer, running it for a few years and an avid spectator watching our games. Mom worked at the Red Grill in Woolco for 10 years and was a dedicated employee with Walmart for 20 years. Mom was an excellent cook and baker. She will be missed dearly by all. A private service will take place on March 8, 2018. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit www.chapellawn.ca Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 204-885-9715

  • Mark and I were so sad to hear of Rita's passing. We were both lucky enough to have worked with Rita at Wal-Mart for nearly 10 years. We had a great night one summer enjoying some drinks and laughs in the backyard with Rita, Terry, Kay and friendly dog Stanley. We are sending our love and prayers to your family during this difficult time. - Posted by: Rachel Packer (Matheson) (Former co-worker and friend ) on: Mar 03, 2018
