Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMELVIN RHEAL JOSEPH GAUDRY It is with profound sadness that suddenly after a lengthy illness, our dad Melvin Gaudry, aged 69 years, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018, a close friend by his side. Born June 13, 1948, to Norman and Emma Gaudry. Survived by his children, Gene (Lori), Rachelle Gaudry; grandchildren, Emma, Jamie, Randel and Elaina; sister Barbara (Len) Gladu; brothers, Robert (Rolonde) and Elmer (Verna) Gaudry, along with many nieces and nephews. Obituary may also be viewed in the Interlake Spectator later this week. Services will be held at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, Saturday, March 10, prayers at 10:30 a.m. Service at 11:00 a.m. Lunch to follow at St. Laurent Hall, including an open mic for any musicians who wish to pay tribute. It is with heavy hearts hearing of our friend Mel passing away. We send our condolences to his kids, grandchildren and Gaudry family. We will miss your great big smile and wave and we walked into the Metis Club on those Friday nights. (Joelene) I will also miss our little chats that we had during break, talking about our days as kids when my mom worked for your parents and mom often took me to the farm and you always had a hug for me and a kiss on the cheek. Dennis said he will miss his talks with you. My friend you are with the angles and I bet you are already playing the guitar and singing with my dad. My uncle Mel was always a great big smiling bear to me growing up. Always so encouraging and supportive, especially when he learned I was picking up the guitar. Never once seen him frown, never really seen him down. Even when discussing his illness, the man would crack a joke and smile. Im blessed to have spent new years with him this year and catch a few photos of him, my dad and my grandfather singing. It will be a memory I cherish forever. To all my grieving family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. My sincere condolences to the family of Melvin. I will always remember him coming over to my parents place and playing guitar and singing. He was such a happy go lucky man. Always had a big smile for me. Although i haven't seen him in years, he was always in my memories. Especially since my own father passed away.
