FREDA MACDONALD (KLINGER)

FREDA MACDONALD (nee KLINGER) 1930 - 2018 Freda passed away peacefully in Winnipeg, on March 4, 2018. Freda was born on December 31, 1930, to Emil and Ursulia (nee Baltuschko) Klinger, on their family farm near Wapella, Saskatchewan. She was the seventh child of 10. Freda and her sister Alma, were both born in the same year. Freda married Harold MacDonald on March 20, 1950, in Wapella, Saskatchewan. They were married for 51 years when Harold passed away in 2001. Freda and Harold lived in Grenfell until moving to Winnipeg in the summer of 1955. They lived on Gallagher Avenue, where they raised their four children. Freda recently moved to an apartment in Fred Douglas. Freda worked for Peak of the Market. She was a hard and dedicated worker who was highly respected by her employer. Freda loved visiting with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had a bowl of candy on her table to share with her visitors. One of her other joys was watching the Blue Jays and curling on TV, and listening to CJOB. Freda liked to go to the casino and play bingo or the machines. She was a frequent winner. She took great joy in spending time with family in Saskatchewan, creating many fond memories. Freda leaves to mourn her passing, her children and their families: Ken (Janet) and their children, Kerry (AnneMarie) and Tracey (Makenzie) Kehler and their sons, Grayson and Brady; Barb (Bob) Frost and their children, Derek (fiancé: Mandi Richard) and his sons, Dillon and Asher, Stacey (Tyler Downey) and their children, Ethan and Mia; Rick (Kathy) and his son Jeremy (Stephanie); and Dave (Tammy) and their son Trent. As well as her siblings: Ron Klinger, Alma Janik, Albert (Lillian) Klinger and Vera (Karl) Springer. Freda was predeceased by her husband, Harold, in 2001; her parents, Emil and Ursulia, in 1989; her sisters, Emelie, Martha, Hilda, Marie; and her brother Eric. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.
