KELVIN BEVERLEY (BEV) JACKSON December 14, 1931 - March 5, 2018 It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Bev Jackson at home. Husband to Jeanette Doreen (Woodmass) Jackson for almost 60 years, father to Gary Jackson and Carol Stoik, and grandfather to Jereme, Veronika and Mary-Clare. Bev was born on the family farm in Margaret, MB. His love of animals started early and he often spoke warmly of his favourite horses "Tip and Top", and of all the animals on the farm. In his youth, Bev played baseball and hockey. A move to The Pas helped develop a love of curling and golf, habits which happily persisted into his golden years. Bev curled in the Masters League at the Heather Curling Club and as skip curled an `eight ender` just prior to hanging up his slider and broom. Bev and Jeanette had the time of their lives in The Pas. They made life-long friends, volunteered at the annual Trappers' Festival, and Bev joined the Elks Lodge and the Masons, allegiances that made supporting this special community a priority and pleasure. The many summers at Clearwater Lake made it possible to stay connected to their friends up north. The Pas was also where they began a family. Dad was a dedicated father. He and Carol loved to play catch and he was always willing to help Gary deliver his paper route on cold winter days. Bev made friends wherever he worked and lived. He worked for many years at Canadian National Railways and the friendships that originated there have remained strong, well after his almost thirty years of retirement. Bev was a devoted husband. Mom and Dad loved to travel, dance, celebrate and spend time at home with family and friends. Dad's generosity of spirit made him the best host, husband, father and grandfather. You will be missed. Your kindness and sense of humour was appreciated by us all. Rest well. We will miss you always. A memorial service will be held at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 881 Autumnwood Drive, Winnipeg MB at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. If so desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Many fond memories from The Pas. Bev worked with my father there and with me later in Winnipeg for CN. I am so grateful to have seen Bev at the CN Pensioner's Christmas party in December last year. Condolences from the entire Kane family. - Posted by: Jim Kane (Colleague) on: Mar 14, 2018

Our condolences Jeanette to you and the family. Bev was such a classy man and professional railroader, he was well thought of by all of his friends and colleagues. Although his key is now silent he will be well remembered. We will remember the good times in The Pas. Trevor & Eileen Wilson. - Posted by: Trevor & Eileen Wilson (Friend) on: Mar 13, 2018

I had the pleasure of curling with Bev for a number of years in the Friday morning Masters at the Heather Curling Club. He was a man that dearly loved the game and was a great sportsman and a very fine fellow both on and off the ice. He always did more than his share in contributing to the welfare of the league by willingly serving in many of the executive positions. It was people like Bev who made it such a fun league in which to curl. Please accept my condolences on his passing.
