ALLEN ARMITAGE Sadly, on March 11, 2018, Allen Brooks Armitage, 71, went to meet the Lord. Allen was born in Killarney, Manitoba to Violet (nee Brooks) and Lawrence Armitage. He was educated in Brandon, Manitoba but made his home in St. Boniface with his soul mate, Jeannine and his children Lori-Ann and Richard. He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Alma and Winona, his brother-in-law Tom Worthington, and his nephew David Lambert. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeannine, his children Lori-Ann and Richard, son-in-law Randy, granddaughter Marina, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Allen loved to work with his hands, having built many things with wood. He was able to fix anything and would often be called to rescue his children when something broke. He was an avid historian, spending many hours researching his family history and other topics that interested him. Mr. Al, as he was called by his children's friends, loved to tease "his girls" and the light in his life was his granddaughter Marina. He could be heard calling out "how's my girl" when Nana was on the phone with Lori. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Fr. Armand Le Gal, o.m.i. officiating. Interment to take place immediately after the Mass at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to pallbearers Richard Armitage, Randy Anderson, Troy Carriere, Tony Gordon, Rudy Hudrick and Bill Terekoff. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Allen's name can be made to a charity of your choice. A heart of gold stopped beating, hardworking hands went to rest, God took you home to prove to us, He only takes the best. Heartaches in this world are many, but losing you was worse than any. It will be lonely here without you, we will miss you more each day, For life will not be the same for us since you've been called away. We will always remember the way you looked, the way you walked and smiled, All the things you did for us, will be with us all the while. You always did your best, your heart was true and tender, You lived your life for those you loved, And those you loved will remember.
