ELSIE REIMER Elsie Reimer (nee Wonneck) passed away March 21, 2018, at the Victoria Hospital, after a long struggle with heart disease. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her four children, Don (Darlene), Lorne (Louise), Barry (Doris) and Wendy (Eric); nine grandchildren, Holly, Richard (Mandy), Jennifer, Jeff (Lyndsey), Angela (Victor), Tyler (Ashley), Jordan (Janine), Chelsea (Chris) and Lisa; six great-grandchildren Adina, Colton, Logan, Maycee, Madeline and Declan. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Margaret Wonneck and Edna Reimer, as well as many nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her beloved husband Erdman (Ed), in 1992; her parents, Dan and Alwine; sisters, Nora, Frieda and Ida; and brother Arvid. She was born May 30, 1927 in the Steinbach area, then at age three moved to Antler, SK. At the age of 16, moved with her parents to Winnipeg. Married in May 1947, after our Dad was discharged from the army. They lived in five different homes in Winnipeg, mostly in the St. Vital area, her sixth home on Alderbrook was designed by her and custom built after our Dad's passing. She enjoyed family and friend visits (especially from her grandchildren and grand-dogs), reading, card games, Scrabble and cooking. She was a loving and doting Granny to her grandkids - having been very involved in their lives over the years. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Europe, Costa Rica, Israel, Hawaii, California, Florida and Arizona. Mom moved into Kirchhoff Gardens four years ago - she enjoyed the friendships with others there. She had been an active member of Faith Lutheran Church for 59 years. Her faith was extremely important to her. We wish to thank those involved in her medical care, especially Dr. Brian Sharkey. His care and compassion was deeply appreciated. As well, we thank Deacon Kris and Pastor Chris for their visits and her friends for their loving concern. Memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street, Monday, March 26 at 11:00 a.m. with private family interment at a later time. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
