Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY NOREEN WIMBLE September 3, 1926 - March 21, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce Shirley's passing. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Gord (Julia) and Don; grandchildren, Ken (Chantal) and Sarah (Tristan); and great-grandson Hunter. Shirley was predeceased by Joe, her husband of 61 years. Shirley Morgan was born in Winnipeg and she grew up in St. Vital with her sisters, Frances, Doris and Hazel. Growing up in a large family during the 1930s, she learned the essential life lessons from her father Godfrey Morgan and mother Mabel, learning to provide a good home for her family. On September 2, 1950 she married Joe Wimble. Joe would spend his working career with Air Canada. After his retirement in 1983, they toured the world together, visiting six continents and sharing many great adventures. Joe would always be the focus of her life and after Joe passed in 2012, she lost her soulmate and it left a great hole in her heart. An avid cook, Shirley was also keenly interested in crafts of many kinds. She also enjoyed golf and curling. She loved to sing, and was a member of The Sweet Adelines in Winnipeg and later in Montreal, she toured North America singing with them. She had a quick wit, and enjoyed a sense of humour to the end. While she loved "her boys", sons Gord and Don, Julia filled the role as daughter with much love and laughter. Later, grandchildren, Ken and Sarah became the focus of her attention. She watched them grow up and took a keen interest in their sport and academic achievements. Recently great-grandson Hunter would be another focus of her affection. Nana had plenty of love to go around and she was loved by all. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. A special thank-you to the caring staff at St. Norbert Care Home who looked after her needs and shared many laughs with her for the past three and one half years.
