GWEN SOUTHALL (nee RICHARDS) In her 94th year, our beloved Gwen passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on March 27, 2018. Gwen was sharp, smart and curious to the very end. She was a ferocious competitor at Words With Friends on her iPhone, a scrabble player par excellence, and a voracious reader. Gwen was kind and loving, with a quick wit, a ready sense of humour and a deep spiritual faith. Gwen was born in rural Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg as a child. She met the love of her life, Phil Southall, at Elim Chapel, where they were married in 1954. After a long and loving marriage, Phil passed away in 2005; now they are reunited forever. Gwen was a dearly loved mother and nana. She is survived by her son Randy (Anita), daughter Wendy, and her five grandchildren, Cole (Kelly), Martine, Graham, Hannah and Ryan. Gwen will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Della, her many nieces and nephews, and her cherished friends. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Bill Volk, her brother and sister-in-law Bob and Ina Richards, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John (Bea), Bob (Shirley), Lionel, Paul, and Gersh Southall, and Maisie Barbour. There will be a memorial reception for friends and family, date to be announced.
