KATHARINA WAGNER (THIESSEN)
Date of Passing: Mar 28, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHARINA WAGNER (nee THIESSEN) 1929 - 2018 With heavy hearts, the family of Katharina Wagner announces her peaceful passing on March 28, 2018. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Ralph (Marlene), daughter Sandra, son Glenn, and daughter Michelle (Peter). Oma's love and generosity will be missed and remembered by her grandchildren Tonya (Jared), Maxine, Mikayla, James, Jordan, Eric and Jaxson. Mom was born in Neuendorf, Russia and at a young age experienced the horrors of the Second World War. She came to Canada in February of 1958. She married shortly thereafter and had four children that she loved dearly. It took a great deal of courage to come to a new country by herself and learn a new language and customs. She did so because she strongly believed this would be the best for her and her future family. Mom was a woman of great kindness, generosity, and creativity. She was a hard worker and tireless. Mom's pride and joy were her grandchildren. She loved to spoil them with sleepovers and special treats. Mom's faith and church were very important to her. She was always grateful for the friendships, fellowship and community. Special thanks go to Anne Peters and Herta Derksen, who for many years supported her and were her closest friends. In her early 80s, Mom was diagnosed with dementia. Despite the disease, she never lost her loving nature and before she could no longer speak, always ended each visit with an "I love you!" The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Bethania Personal Care Home for providing such comfort and care. For those who wish, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to Mennonite Central Committee would be greatly appreciated. Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. A Celebration of Life will take place at the North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. KLASSEN Funeral Home (204) 338 0331 Condolences may be sent to www.klassenfuneralhome.com
