WILLI SCHAMBERGER Peacefully on March 30, 2018, at 85 years of age, our dear husband, dad and grandpa followed his heart home. His was a life filled with noisy family, laughter and lots of love. Missing him already are: his wife of nearly 60 years, Jean, children Cheryl and Mike Wilson, Luane Campbell, and Arlene and Brent Prokopchuk; grandchildren Douglas, Wayne, Matt (Julia), Mitch (Vicki), Brenden (Dayna), Brett and Bria; great-grandchildren Kiera, Alyssa, and his "little one" Locklyn. After immigrating from Germany in 1955 as a Master Cabinet Maker, Dad worked for various companies through the years, retiring from the Selkirk Training Centre as a Woodworking Instructor. Always a perfectionist, Dad took very great pride in everything he did. The family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone involved in attending after his fall. His friend Joy, the medics at his home, Health Sciences Centre Emergency and Ward 5G staff and all affiliated services. His care was exceptional. A celebration of Willi's life will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Grey Street United Church, Grey and Sandhurst Avenue, Winnipeg at 3:00 p.m., reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Grey Street United Church General Fund or Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg...with many thanks. "We saw a star that shone so bright When we looked up, the other night. There was no doubt that you were there A wink, a nod, and not a care. We're sad you're gone, we send our love But now you're free, at peace, above." seasonsfunerals.ca

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Well your Dear Grandpa Willi went to a better place. He was a amazing man always so helpful and caring. The beautiful wood work he did will be missed. He loved my girls and told them it was ok to call him Grandpa Willi. Willi you will be so missed by us, your helpful hints on how to fix things, and even your stubborn German-ness :). We love you Grandpa Willi - Posted by: Joy & Girls ( Neighbour ) on: Apr 07, 2018
