JOHN SIATECKI Peacefully, on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Arborg Personal Care Home, John Siatecki, aged 90 years, a lifelong resident of Fraserwood, MB, passed away. He was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Anne; and his brother Adolph (Ed). He leaves to forever cherish his memory his wife of 67 years, Mary; children, Wilfred (Hazel), Andrew (Lovie), Marvin and Delores; sister Helen; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John faithfully drove the school bus for the Evergreen School Division for 19 years and he was also a heavy equipment operator and farmer in Fraserwood, MB. He took great pride in whatever jobs and projects he was involved with. He especially admired his hay fields when the crop was off and everything was all neat and tidy. When he wasn`t working, he enjoyed playing the guitar in his band the Western Rhythm Kings, but the thing that mattered most to him was his family, whenever they had a problem, he was always there to help and give advice. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, MB, with interment to follow in the Fraserwood Community Cemetery with lunch to follow in the Fraserwood Hall. A special thanks to the staff at the Arborg Personal Care Home for all the kindness and compassion shown to John in his time there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 2117-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. So sorry to hear the loss of your husband and father. All I can remember is what a good bus driver and person he was. I think of all of the 19 years he drove the bus, I had him for my entire school life as well I am sure the rest of my family. The older kids got to sit in the back of the bus, so Andy and I were there for a few years. Rode with all you kids for years. The bus time was always fun! Even after school in my married life, he would always come and say hello and was so friendly. We will not be able to be at the funeral and it saddens me that I won’t be there. I would have loved to have seen all the kids again. Will be thinking of you all! - Posted by: Lois and Al Yablonski (Friend) on: Apr 04, 2018
