Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUNE FLORENCE WALKER February 15, 1928 - April 1, 2018 June Walker passed away peacefully at the age of 90. She is survived by her son, Tim (Judy); daughter-in-law, Joy; grandchildren, Jeremy (Nicole), Brian (Darolyn), Aynsley (Blair), Erin, Adam (Samantha), Sean (Lindsey); and great-grandchildren, Braedan, Jaelyn, Grayson, Logan, Dylan and Kaiya. She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce; son, Bob; and parents, Graydon and Beatrice Tipp. Mom was born in Edmonton and lived there until she was 16, when she moved with her parents to Winnipeg. Two years later, she met Bruce while playing tennis at River Heights Community Centre and they were married on July 1, 1948. June loved to sing, and entertained the family with many show songs over the years. She was especially proud of singing the lead in the "Hello Dolly" production at Oxford United Church. Sioux Narrows, Clear Lake, Falcon Lake and Waskesiu were favourite family holiday spots, where Bruce, June, Bob and Tim enjoyed tennis, fishing, lawn bowling, bridge and board games. In later years, Bruce and June vacationed in Palm Springs. When Mom's mind began to fail, and Dad was no longer able to care for her at home, she moved to Poseidon Care Centre, where she spent the remainder of her life: the family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff for their many years of care. A private family gathering will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
