Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED IRENE HUZZEY (nee SUTHERLAND) Mildred Irene passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Concordia Hospital. Millie was predeceased by her loving husband, of 52 years, Arthur Thomas on the same day Wednesday, April 4, 2001. Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and great-grandmother is survived by son, Arthur (Judy) and their children, Julie of California, Jill (Derek) and Steven (Alana) of British Columbia; son, Reid (Chris) and their children, Helen (Matt), and Martin of British Columbia; daughter, Patty (Bob), son Aaron (Stacie and their children Serena and Gabriel), and daughter Lindsey (Daniel) of West St. Paul and Winnipeg. Millie was born in Selkirk, Manitoba on March 7, 1925 to Donald Sutherland and Anna Sutherland (nee Petersen) and grew up with siblings Douglas, Earl, Frank and Gladys. Millie was an avid traveller, she and her husband Art spent many years travelling across the world, visiting several different places throughout Europe, the United States, and Canada. Millie enjoyed spending time with friends and family of whom she was very proud. She was always wanting to be with her loved ones whether it be movies, shopping, playing cards, or going out for lunches and dinners, she was always on the go. Millie kept people smiling with her warm personality and great sense of humour. According to Millie's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family gathering. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Millie may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Special thanks to staff on 3 East at Concordia Hospital, Dr. Laura Miskiewicz, home care, and the staff of River Ridge Retirement Home.
