Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEUGENE LAPALISSE On April 7, 2018, Eugene passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 79. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Marie (Verrier). Gene also leaves to mourn his in-laws, John and Henriette Verrier, Denis and Judy Verrier, Léo and Louise Courcelles. Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Jean-Marie and Agathe. Gene worked for Thompson Lumber and Collège St. Boniface for many years, where he made lifelong friends. He was known as a joker, always having a story to share. Menoncle Gene loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and attended many basketball, hockey, curling and volleyball games to spend time with his great-niece and great-nephews. Gene was passionate about his parish, volunteering numerous hours at the church and working in his beloved cemetery. He always enjoyed going for quad and snowmobile rides as well as riding around in his red Ford pickup. Gene was friendly, no matter what time of day, he was there to greet you with a smile, a cup of coffee and munchies. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April, 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ste. It is with great sadness that we learned about your dear husband Eugene passing away in the newspaper obituary! We shall always remember his kindness & good humor & the best roommate & acquaintance during his time in the hospital with Lucien. Certainly a man who shall be missed by many. Our sincere sympathy Marie & family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you & may God give you all the courage & strength in your time of grief. We have fond and wonderful memories of Eugene and his wife Marie travelling with Marie and Leo as part of the Wizards basketball family adventures! best fans and famille ever!! Marie. C’est avec beaucoup de tristesse que j’ai appris de décès d’Eugene « mon oncle Gene ». Sachez que je suis très reconnaissant des bons moments que nous avons passés ensemble. J’ai beaucoup d’admiration pour Eugene pour ses qualités humaines. Je me souviendrai de lui comme d’une personne qui avait un sens de l’humour incroyable – nous trouvions toujours du temps pour rire. Dear Marie and family. I was so sorry to hear about Eugene's passing. What memories I have of him when I lived in Ste-Agathe, and all the times we met afterwards. Auntie Marie We want to send you our sad condolences for your great loss. Menoncle Eugene and you are very special to Emile & me. Emile has so many fond childhood memories of Menoncle Eugene & you. I as well was so touched when he and you welcomed me so warmly after our marriage. I will refer to him as Uncle Eugene. He was so sweet and funny. He was always so upbeat no matter what. We always looked forward to seeing his smiling face and funny little jokes. He always made our day. We will miss him so very much. He was truely a very kind gentleman, who made this world a much happier place.
