ELVIRA MARTENS (nee SCHULZ) Elvira Martens (nee Schulz), born January 11, 1931 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, died peacefully at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home on April 11, 2018. Survived by her loving husband Bruno, daughters, Cathie (Edward Ugrin) and Laura (Hal Loewen), grandchildren, Heidi (Paul Ouellette) and Bryan (Meghan Tooley), and great-grandchildren, Henry, Ruby, and Sam. Mom loved her family deeply and took great joy in supporting all of their dreams and endeavours. She loved celebrations and hosted many fabulous dinners for family and friends. She was a businesswoman who took enormous pride in the success of Carellan Sewing Centre, of which she was one of the original partners. She and Bruno loved to travel, whether they were going to Grand Forks or to China, for work related adventures, family reunions, or a weekend getaway with their children or grandchildren. Our deepest thanks go to the entire Bethania community. Funeral service will be held at Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Avenue, on April 24 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Bethania Personal Care Home or Mennonite Central Committee, two organizations close to Elly's heart. seasonsfunerals.ca
