ROBERT ALFRED TOWN Born on June 17, 1926 Passed on April 9, 2018 Survived by Audrey (Lorne), Wendy (Hugh), Rick (Jane), and Patti (Bob); 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Married to Mary (May) Agnes Town (née Saunders) for 68 years until her passing in 2014, his later years were marred by dementia. For our father, life was an adventure. A 50-year career in railroading, a short wartime Army stint, world travels, ice scuba diving starting in 1961, bowling, pilot's license, Shriner Motor Patrol and YMCA leadership and Special Olympics volunteer; those were just some of his pursuits that used the same adventurous spirit. Along with May, he imparted that life approach to all his children. We are grateful for that direction in our lives. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the dedicated care team at Deer Lodge Tower 3, especially Arlis Decorte, as they were superb in our father's final years. As well, Comforts of Home Care provided great comfort to Dad, particularly Cheri's caring and understanding ministrations. Memorial services to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Uncle Rob and auntie May would stop on their way to Texas for the Winter. We enjoyed their visit and looked forward to their stops on their way back to Winnipeg. When traveling became too much for them we bought their mobile home in Pharr Texas. I remember one time that they came to visit in Fargo and Uncle Rob kept making a left on our street instead of a right. This took them all the way to West Fargo and back. This went on for about 2 hours. Finally He stopped to ask a police officer and was escorted to our house. Auntie May was so relieved to get to us that she practically kissed the ground. We loved them both dearly and will always be grateful to them for getting us to Texas. RIP Uncle Bob. Sympathy to my cousin's Audry , Wendy, Rick and Patti. Hugs for you all. - Posted by: Marlynda Roiger (Niece) on: Apr 14, 2018
