Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROGER HENRI THEVENOT April 22, 1937 - April 16, 2018 Roger Henri Thevenot passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, April 16, 2018. Roger was born in Somerset, MB on April 22, 1937, one of 12 children, to Paul and Yvonne Thevenot. He married Shirley Ann Rapitta on June 18, 1960 in Kipling, SK, and went on to have three children, Lana, Karla and Brian. He worked for many years for the Federated Co-op, which brought them all to Carman in 1978. Roger owned and operated the Carman Shoe & Sport's store before his retirement, but then his real career started working with great friends at Aubin Nurseries and potato trucking. As a keen traveller, Roger and Shirley visited Hawaii, Bermuda, Venezuela, Paris and many other destinations with family and friends. They enjoyed a number of years as snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona, which became their winter home. Roger was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, a determined golfer, and known for his sense of humour, kindness and generosity. Roger is survived by his wife, Shirley, children Lana (Stuart, Stu Jr. and Shaina) Thompson, Karla Thevenot, Brian (Marise) Thevenot, grandchildren Dane Chasca and Roger Jr. "RJ" Thevenot. He is also survived by his siblings Paul, Adrien, Maurice, Romeo, Juliette, Cecile, Albert and Eva, numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Roger was predeceased by his parents Paul and Yvonne Thevenot, sister Yvonne Lemieux, and brothers Raymond and Joe Thevenot. A Prayer Service for Roger will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Carman, MB. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Friends Community Church, Carman, MB at 1:00 p.m. Officiated by Bishop Albert Thevenot. Roger will be interred at the Greenwood Cemetery in Carman following the Mass. Memorial donations in Roger's honour can be made to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 35 - 1st Avenue N.W., Carman, Manitoba R0G 0J0. I knew the Thevenot's in Somerset and got to know Joe and Mary in Thompson for many years. They were all wonderful people and great community members.
