So glad to hear such an amazing teacher and dedicated professional went on to enjoy a long and happy retirement. I have many fond memories of Ellen and Jan as a student and later as a coworker. Sorry I couldn’t make the celebration. My condolences Jan. - Posted by: Mary Hinam (Former student and colleague.) on: Apr 29, 2018

Farewell dear friend. Whether canoeing on the Bird River or in Lac du Bonnet, toasting the glaciers in Alaska, riding the cable car in Palm Springs, or just watching the sunset with a cocktail on the deck on the Sunshine Coast, we have shared many adventures. Your keen intelligence and biting wit were a treasured addition to any gathering. Your ongoing engagement with life, and your tenacity and grit in facing the advancing years were a life lesson to all of us lucky enough to share your orbit. You had a long life, well-lived. You were a teacher to many, a treasured friend, and we are all better people for having known you. - Posted by: Michele Libling (Friend) on: Apr 21, 2018
