YVON EUCLIDE GODARD
Born: Nov 16, 1924
Date of Passing: Apr 19, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVON EUCLIDE GODARD November 16, 1924 - April 19, 2018 With family by his side, Euclide Yvon Godard, beloved husband of the late Susan, passed away at Action Marguerite. Euclide is survived by children, Barry (Eileen), Martin (Jennifer), Paul (Tara) and Theresa (Mark); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sister Sherryl. Along with his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter Rhona, son-in-law Gerry, grandson Jarod, great-granddaughters, Julie and Tilson. Euclide was a veteran of the Second World War, enlisting at age 16 in the Canadian Artillery serving in Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Over the years, he had a variety of jobs including working at Canada Post, Union Carbide, and Sacred Heart Parish and School. Our dad was a hardworking, honest and steadfast person. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life like a bowl of ice-cream, Mom's desserts or eating rhubarb from his garden. He enjoyed watching the Jets and Habs or the Blue Jays and Cubs. He was an avid reader of novels and Westerns and would read the Winnipeg Free Press from front to back every day. He had a great sense of humour that bordered on the corny side and was a positive influence in our everyday lives. He valued his family and his country. Euclide cherished his wife of 71 years and had truly authentic and unassuming relationships with his children and grandchildren. He encapsulated the true meaning of the phrase, "good people". If the "eyes are the window to your soul" is true, you would only see love and kindness in our father/grandfather's eyes. To know him was to love him, and everyone did! A private memorial service will be held in accordance with his wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Euclide's favourite charity, Covenant House. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

My sincere condolences to all my cousins and their families. Uncle Euclide was a gentleman and a kind Uncle. His beautiful blue eyes and lovely smile made him so approachable. He and Aunty Susan were my Godparents and spoiled me every chance they had growing up. I have many fond memories of my younger days in their home. We watched Hawaii 5 0 on their Color TV. That was special. Rest In Peace Uncle Euclide. Love Louise Desender - Posted by: Louise Desender (Niece ) on: May 06, 2018

We lived on Bentwood in our first home and Godard's lived just down the street. We didn't have a road or a sidewalk when we first moved in so we had no mail delivery. Euclid used to bring home our mail and deliver it personally to us every day. We surely appreciated the Godard's and send our condolences to Susan and family. - Posted by: Harry and Joanne Roussin` (old neighbors) on: Apr 29, 2018
