DIANE VAN CRYENEST (nee WETLUK) January 22, 1939 - April 25, 2018 It is with great sorrow that the family of Diane Van Cryenest announces the passing of our beloved mother on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Mom was a strong lady who faced many health problems that most of us would find insurmountable, but she faced her challenges with a sense of humour and grace that we were all in awe of. Our mom asked that we start her obituary with "Diane has left the building". Even in her final days, she was able to find a way to make us laugh. Diane's memory will be cherished by her three children, Stephen (Jean), Christopher (Bradley) and Lisa (Alain), her four grandsons, Ethan and Austin, Gerald-Pierre and Alexandre. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald, parents, Ann and Peter, and her brother Daniel. Mom and Dad had wonderful memories of their trips together to Europe, Hawaii and Mexico. They also adored the time they spent visiting with their grandchildren in Saskatchewan and Quebec. After Dad's passing Mom kept those traditions by continuing to visit her family out of province and going on many trips with her children. A few years ago, Mom sold the family home of 54 years and moved to Agape Villa in Southdale, where she made many wonderful friends who were at her side throughout her illness. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road. The family wishes to thank the staff of 5E acute medicine at St. Boniface Hospital and Mom's special friends, Sister Joanne Duggan and Maureen Spadano for their compassionate care and support.
