LORNA MCINTYRE (nee TREBLE) Lorna Jeanette McIntyre passed away peacefully on April 28, 2018, at the age of 91 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Harvey in 2017. Survived by loving daughter Lori (Randy) and grandchildren, Nolan, Nate and Dayna; eldest son Brian and grandchildren, Taylor, Connor and Jordyn; estranged son Kenneth; granddaughter Kara, and great-granddaughter Lily, both in Florida. Lorna was born on August 22, 1926 and raised by parents, Ernie and Nettie Treble in Crystal City Manitoba. During her school years, she created lifelong memories of softball, skating to music in the local rink, biking to Rock Lake, and camping with friends. She loved animals especially dogs Foxy, Murphy, Sammy and Penny, successively her companions over many years. In 1945, she completed the secretarial course at Angus School of Commerce in Winnipeg and began to enjoy the working world. Her field was radio, TV and advertising, where she made lifelong friends. An early employer was CKY, then owned by MTS, and she appeared to be the last surviving member of that staff. Love of sports led her to the Wildewood Club, Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club, and Winnipeg Badminton Club. She re-met her schoolmate Harvey in 1949 and they married in 1951. Summers at Rock Lake, Falcon Lake, Granite Lake, trips to Hawaii, sailing a ketch in the Virgin Islands and cruising with friends in the Bahamas are special things they did together. Remembered and much loved for her sarcastic wit, legendary Crazy 8's skills and indomitable spirit. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Nolan, Nate and Dayna. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at The Waverley, especially Kat and Jessica, homecare nurses, Debbie and Luanne, Dr. Cooke and Jade at CancerCare Manitoba, and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. At Lorna's request, there will be no service. Donations in her memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
