Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMERENCIANA MONTE AVISO January 23, 1924 - May 3, 2018 Emerenciana Aviso passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Grace Hospital on May 3, 2018, in Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 94. Meren, as she is fondly called, was born on January 23, 1924 in Magallanes, Sorsogon, Philippines. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jose, daughter Potenciana, mother Ines Bellen, father Juan Monte, three brothers and four sisters from the Philippines. Meren will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children: Tess Newton, Lina, Ricardo and Dante from Winnipeg, Flower, Connie and Gildo from British Columbia; Victor, Abundancio and Fely from the Philippines; youngest sister Isabel from the Philippines; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends in Canada and the Philippines. She moved to Canada in September 1984. Meren worked in the garment industry for a number of years in Winnipeg. Meren was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and spending time with her family was her favourite pastime. Viewing/Lamay will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 between 6:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Prayer Mass will take place on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with Fr. Dado Parrenas officiating. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Broadway Disciples United Church, 396 Broadway at Kennedy, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Pastor Noel Suministrado officiating. Interment and reception will follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
