Date of Passing: May 03, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHERESA OUELLETTE (nee DIERKER) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Ouellette, loving wife of 53 years to Germain, and mother of Catherine and Daniel, on Thursday, May 3, 2018. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Parkview Place Personal Care Home, especially those on the fifth floor for their dedication and loving care of mom. Theresa was born in Bremen, Saskatchewan, on October 14, 1929. She moved to Winnipeg in 1939. Theresa was working for the CN Railway when she met Germain. In 1964, on October 10, they were married at St. Gerard Parish. They moved to Thompson where they raised their two children, Catherine and Daniel. Theresa's love of music was passed on to her children as well as her unshakeable faith in God. Theresa spent a number of years babysitting in Thompson and Winnipeg, helping to raise many children. She was truly a mom to all who knew her. She could always be counted on to help out. When she and Germain retired to Winnipeg, they enjoyed many a Sunday drive exploring the far corners of southern Manitoba. If you needed to know where the best pie was, just ask them. Theresa will be missed terribly by her loving husband Germain, daughter Catherine (Stephen), son Daniel, sister Loretta, many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends, including, Lillian, Van, Al, Harmony, and Rowan. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish 847 St. Mary's Rd. Private burial to follow. Love is not a destiny but a journey. It is with heavy hearts that we offer our condolences to Gerry, Cat, and family. Terry, as we called her, and her husband Gerry were like a third set of grandparents to our son, Hunter. When she and her husband retired to Winnipeg, they looked after our son from infancy to kindergarten in our home and were involved in his life until adulthood. We, as parents, were so incredibly fortunate to leave our child in the capable and loving hands of Terry and her husband, Gerry. Terry had a great sense of humor, a kind heart, and always had great stories to tell. Her love of children was exemplified in her care-giving skills. The memory of this amazing lady's beautiful spirit makes all of us in our family smile. May your family take comfort knowing Terry impacted many lives in a special way, especially ours. As a mother, I am eternally grateful this "gift from God" was brought to us to care for our son. Rest comfortably Terry.
