Born: Sep 05, 1938
Date of Passing: May 07, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJERRY ALBERT HARRISON Peacefully on May 7, 2018, at the Goodwin Lodge in Teulon MB, Jerry Harrison aged 79 years of Matlock, MB passed away. Jerry will be sadly missed by his son Kyle (Donna), daughter Amber (Quinn Eyolfson), and grandchildren, Caelyn, Layne and Colton. He also leaves to mourn his sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Dave), Eileen and Jane; brother-in-law Ron (Gloria); long time friend Dully Moore, who was always there for a visit and help Dad with anything he needed; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his wife Barb; parents, William and Jean; brother Reg; and sister Joyce Pawluk. Jerry was born September 5, 1938 in Selkirk, MB and was raised in Matlock, MB, where as a young boy he would spend his days helping his dad fix tires and vehicles at the family owned garage on Matlock Road. Jerry received his certificate in Diesel Mechanics from Musker Engineering Institute in 1957 and shortly after started Harrison Bros. Construction with his brother Reg. He would then go on to get his Class 1 licence and start Harrison & Sons LTD moving buildings all across Manitoba. Jerry loved the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, making many trips all over for moose, elk and deer. He passed down his love for the outdoors to his children and grandchildren and would always spend time with us kids building bird houses, fishing, boating, hunting, teaching us to drive and target shooting. As a family we went on many camping trips all over Manitoba with many close friends. Jerry and Barb bought property at Chalet Beach and moved a cabin there; this is where they would spend summers with family and friends fishing, boating, water-skiing and playing horseshoes. Jerry could always be found at the cabin with a fishing pole in one hand and a beer in the other, driving around in his truck with one of his many dogs, or out in his shop fixing something. Rest in peace Dad, you're with Mom again. Cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. We would like to thank the staff at Goodwin Lodge in Teulon for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerry's memory to a children's charity or animal rescue of your choosing. Condolences, photos and videos may be left on Jerry's tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.

I got to know your father through Chris Hauser, a long time friend of Kyle, I heard many stories and was disappointed I never knew him. Surprisingly enough, working as a Dental Hygienist in Arborg, Jerry’s smiling face showed up!! I had the most amazing experience meeting your dad and would never forget it. I am so very sorry for your lose and am so very happy I got to experience the cottage you grew up with. His stories, even then were fantastic...pulling his own teeth out! He remembered my Chris and I was changed for the better. Rest In Peace my new friend. You were truly loved. - Posted by: Marcia (Acquaintance ) on: May 11, 2018
