LEONDINA DI MARCO (nee IEZZI) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Nonna, Zia and friend Leondina Di Marco. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Sofia (Lino), Anna and Eva (Tony); grandchildren, Guerino (Lisa), Gabriele (Cheryl), Diano, Casey, Maria and Angela; and great-grandchildren, Justin and Emma. She leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Felano, Yolanda, Annina and Luigi (Sylvana), brother-in-law Guiseppe (Maria), and sisters-in-law, Velia and Emma. Lina is now resting in heaven and is reunited with her husband Guerino, and her family. Lina was born on January 29, 1931 in Cellino Attanasio. Our dad immigrated to Canada in 1957, and Mom reunited with him four years later in 1963 with two young children. Mom loved to bake, cook and was a seamstress by trade, but her greatest accomplishment and passion was raising her grandchildren. Her love for family was undefinable. She was a true nurturer for everyone. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 at Holy Rosary Parish Church, 510 River Avenue with Reverend Father Sam Argenziano as the Celebrant. Viewing and Condolences will be held one hour prior to Mass. Entombment will take place in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street. The family would like to thank Deer Lodge and also the wonderful staff at Meadowood Manor for their dedication and compassion towards Mamma Lina. Mom How very, very lucky we were That you were our Mother You opened our minds and our hearts. You always had the time To tell us a story or sing us a song. You always picked us up When we fell down. You will always be the most Important Lady in our lives. Your love and guidance will Always be with us. We wish you could have been With us longer, but we are so Grateful for the time we had. All of us, your friends and family, Will truly miss you. Thank you so much For being our Mother. May God care for you As you did for us. Please accept our most sincere condolences on the passing of your dear Mother and Nonna, Leondina. I remember one of the last times I had the pleasure of talking to her was approximately five years ago at the Italian Folklorama where she along with her husband, Querino were volunteering. We enjoyed reminiscing and caught up with each other's families. Losing parents is like losing your pathway back to your childhood, know that you were good children and the memories of your parents will live on in your hearts. Wishing you strength and peace during this very sad time. All our love, Anna Marinelli for Maria Marinelli ( Villa Nova) - Posted by: Anna Marinelli (Friend) on: May 12, 2018
