JERRY MIROSLAV WEREMY
Date of Passing: May 08, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJERRY MIROSLAV WEREMY 1935 - 2018 With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Jerry Weremy, loving husband of Lorna for 60 years, at Concordia Hospital on May 8, 2018, at the age of 83. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lorna; sons Daryl (Denise), Mark (Cathy), daughters Kim (Ted) Feniuk, Karen (Rick) Beilman, grandchildren Shawn (Chantal), Lance, Craig (Cassidy), Courtney (Andrew), Kristen and Kyle, and four great-grandchildren, Owen, Lucas, Dani and Dallas. He is also survived by his sisters Pearl and Diane, and brother David. He also leaves his cherished cats that he and Lorna care for, especially his special Smokey. Jerry was a strong, opinionated and fearless man. He never backed down from any challenge. For most of his career he worked at Simmons Rentals. On the weekends he enjoyed going out to our family farm in Libau. It was a weekend getaway for all his family. Many memories were created with Mom and Dad and our own families and friends together at the farm. We worked hard, ate plenty, enjoyed some drinks and had 'lots of fun'. Dad enjoyed the outdoors. He loved gardening, fishing, and taking friends and family up for a flight in his airplane. Fly-in fishing trips up north were at the top of the list of his life enjoyments. He spoke of these memories with much enthusiasm. The last few months for Dad were difficult as is health started to take his independence away and it was time to back down from the challenge he was now facing. It's time to rest now Dad, we will miss you and never forget you. As per his wishes cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry's name may be made to a charity of choice. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

My condolences to Lorna and family on their loss. I regret that I did not get to visit after my return from BC after Aunt Pearl passed away. I spoke with Jerry when I was in BC and we had a nice visit on the phone. May he rest in peace. Joan - Posted by: Joan Klym Dueck (Cousin) on: May 13, 2018

My deepest sympathy to the family for your loss. Uncle Jerry and Aunty Lorna were a huge part of my life growing up....both are my godparents and growing up Uncle Jerry was like a second father to me Every weekend I looked forward to them coming over to visit. I attribute my love for building things from watching Uncle Jerry build things...It was Uncle Jerry who introduced me to my first experience at flying...i have many memories,..though I am sad he had to go I realize it was a blessing to end his suffering...To the family, I hope all your fond memories and the kind words from family and friends bring you some comfort at this most difficult time..lots of Love--Kathy - Posted by: Kathy Samagalski (neice) on: May 12, 2018
