DANIEL WILLIAM KENT August 16, 1950 May 9, 2018 Dan Kent passed away peacefully on May 9, 2018, in Steinbach, Manitoba. Dan is survived by his sons, Doug (Val) and Graham (Samantha) and his daughter, Katie (Dwain) Anderson; his four grandchildren, Blake, Brenden, Jazlynn and Mason; and two brothers, Stephen Kent and Chris Kent. Dan was a long-time member of the Ironworkers Union Local 728. His abilities did not end with work. A gifted charmer of children and adults, he melted all of us to tearful laughter, not just because he was funny, but endearing. A good cook, he enjoyed gatherings in his home, fellowship with family and friends, remembering stories and creating new ones, while the kids ran around the house. He really wanted us to be happy. It was important to him. An avid fan of hockey, baseball and football, he believed in community involvement in Grande Pointe, where he settled down with Emily. Dan coached and enrolled his sons, Graham and Doug, and his daughter, Katie, in sports. He involved his grandchildren Blake, Brenden, Jazlynn and Mason as well. He was predeceased by his wife Emily Kent; and parents Carl and Kathleen Kent. Among those left to mourn are his nieces and nephews, Melissa, Daisy, Hikaru and Jackson Kent. There are also many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the support of all those who came to the hospital, Ironworkers Union Local 728 and to the staff of Bethesda Regional Health Center for their compassion. Thank you to all for your prayers and consolation to the family. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Bethesda Regional Health Centre. Graveside service will start at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 at Navin Road, on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Cemetery. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
