DAVID BRAZER On Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 2:35 a.m., our father, zaidah, great-zaidah, brother, uncle and friend, David Brazer, passed away at the age of 85. He leaves behind his children: Cindy, Sherri and Clyde (Kathy); his grandchildren: Samara, Greg, Jennifer (Chris), Michael (Sarah) and Brent (Tasha); and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters, Betty and Shirley; his niece, nephews and cousins, and his very special bird, Rockford. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce; his parents, Sam and Tillie; brother Bernie (in childhood). Dad was very engaged in the community, volunteering his time on the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Board, The Seven Oaks Hospital Board and the West Kildonan Community Centre. Seven Oaks Days were a special time when he planned the events. He owned and operated Provincial Sheet Metals on Selkirk Avenue which he inherited from his father. He was a well-known figure as he sat in the doorway of the shop and spoke to each and every person that walked by. Special thanks to his very special coffee and lunch buddies who made his days complete, giving him company and others to talk with and to his nephew Gary, who referred to him as Shumkle David. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. If desired, please make a donation in his name to a charity of your choice. MY CONDOLENCES TO THE BRAZER FAMILY. I FIRST MET THE BRAZER'S AT THEIR METAL SHOP ON SELKIRK AVENUE 50 YEARS AGO. I NEEDED SHEET METAL PARTS, DAVID AND HIS FATHER MADE THE FITTNGS RIGHT THEN AND THERE. I WAS AMAZED AT THE PRODUCTION OF METAL FITTINGS THAT WERE MADE ON WHAT APPEARED TO BE ANCIENT WHEELS AND COGS. SIMPLE MACHINES INCREDIBLE CRAFTSMEN. IF YOU NEVER WALKED UP THE STEPS INTO THE WORK AREA AT PSM YOU MISSED OUT ON A LIFE LONG EXPERIENCE THAT IS RARELY FOUND TODAY. - Posted by: PATRICK LENNOX (admired thier work) on: May 15, 2018
