AGNES DOPSON (MCCORMICK) We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Agnes Dopson, on April 13, 2018. Agnes was born in Winnipeg on August 25, 1925, to Thomas and Janet McCormick, the second youngest of nine children. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Bill, son Gordy, daughter Debra and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son Tom (Debbie) and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mom will be remembered lovingly by all who knew her. Mom grew up in the Gunton area before moving to Winnipeg. She worked for Swifts, Townsend Electric and Mid-West Quilting. Mom and Dad lived in the West End of Winnipeg for most of their (57 years) married life. Dad retired in 1984 and in 1988, moved to Gunton where they enjoyed their retirement years. Mom loved to cook and bake especially her special chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies. Her grandchildren always enjoyed a good game of crib. Mom loved when visitors dropped by and enjoyed a good conversation on just about anything. Mom's interment took place with a private ceremony on April 23, 2018, at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Our entire families' deepest condolences on reading of Aggie's passing. Our family sure did miss our visits with her after she moved away, we thought and spoke highly of her often. We have a lot of fond and fun memories to remember her by. She was one of the kindest, most gracious ladies we were lucky enough to call family. The heavens received one beautiful angel. We know she is now enjoying her time being reunited with family that have already passed. May she rest in the peace. - Posted by: Lori Hessner Unsworth (Cousin) on: May 24, 2018

  • I am saddened to learn of your Mom’s passing (& that she suffered with Alsheimer’s Disease). You may not remember me or my brother, Arnie; but we knew your family (especially your brother, Gordy). We lived in the next door, leaky two-story on Ingersoll Street, beside your parents’ home to the North. Your Mom was always coming & going, but she always took the time to greet us. She was continually busy between working, raising her 3 children, taking care of your Dad when hard times came knocking at their door. Please accept my heartfelt, sincere condolences. Your Mom was a lovely lady & one of the few who truly mellowed as she grew older. Kind regards, Arlene Wildeman Hirsch - Posted by: Arlene Hirsch (Next door neighbour) on: May 21, 2018
