MARY LENORE MILLER November 13, 1918 - May 18, 2018 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Lenore Miller (nee Paquette), in her hundredth year. She is survived by her children, Brian (Sharon), Darlene (Gary), Jack (Elsie), Robert. She also leaves behind two grandsons, Jamie (Brenda-Lee), Jonathan; granddaughter Makayla; and great-granddaughter Lauryn. She is also survived by her sister Grace; brother Ted (Irene); as well as four sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Other people who were fond of mom include Macey and her sons, Kayson and Noah. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jack; her sisters, Marjorie, Dorothy, Norma, Isabel; and her brothers, Jack, Bruce, Lesley and Bobby. Mom was born and raised in Selkirk, Manitoba until she moved to Winnipeg and met her husband Jack. They married, and mom stayed at home to raise her family. She dedicated her life to her kids and always put their needs before herself. Mom also foster parented many children throughout the years. Mom's favourite pastime was knitting, where she spent countless hours making clothing for her kids, the church and neighbours. She was an avid bowler and belonged to a league at Mosienko's. She also enjoyed cheering on her Winnipeg Blue Bombers with her son Jack. Mom was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church for many years and later on in life she attended St. Luke's Zion Lutheran Church. Mom also enjoyed attending (when able) the services at Luther Home. Her faith in Jesus Christ is what kept her going all these years. Thank you to the staff at Luther Home for their care and kindness over the last four years. "Since the moment we entered this world, You have cared for us like no other. There is only one word to describe you, That is in every way, a perfect MOTHER." God bless you mom. Rest in Peace. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My deepest condolences to all the family. I have such fond memories of Aunty Mary and I know she will be greatly missed. She was such a sweetheart. - Posted by: Maureen Miller (Niece) on: Jun 16, 2018

  • Sunday, May 27, 2018 Mary, what can I say, was, my second mom. My mother (Pat) found Mary Miller through Mary’s sister Grace in Selkirk Mb. back in 1959 to find a temporary home for me age (6 months) so my mom could continue to work. Mary welcomed me into her already growing family of three (3) Brian, Darlene, Jack Jr and Jack Sr (Her husband). I grew up in a family with the millers and enjoyed the love, support and squabbles like all families go through. I stayed with the millers for twelve (12) years. I visited Mary as often as possible and we reminisced of days gone by and had a few laughs. Mary was ALWAYS a very honest, generous, happy and thoughtful individual and all I can say is my life was richer by her being in it. REST IN PEACE Mary my dear, everyone loved her who knew her, me included. Billy - Posted by: William Elliott (Billy) (Friend of the family) on: May 27, 2018

  • We are so sorry to hear of Aunty Mary's passing. We send our condolences to all of the family. Aunty Mary married Jack Miller who was William Miller's brother. William Miller's son Ron was Aunty Mary's godchild. Although I (Ron's wife) had only met Aunty Mary a few times, she was always kind to me. The family had nothing but good things to say about her. Prior to knowing Ron, when I was a wee child, I lived on the same street as Jack and Mary Miller and remember a boy name Billy that Aunty Mary was fostering. Billy and I went to the same school together. I'm happy that Aunty Mary lived a full life and she had a wonderful family who cared and loved her deeply. Your memories of Aunty Mary will last forever. Please let us know when the family service is as we would like to attend and see family we haven't seen in along time. All our love Ron & Joanne Miller - Posted by: Ron and Joanne Miller (Aunt) on: May 27, 2018

  • It’s been a while since I last saw Mrs Miller. I can still remember when I was a kid and my grandmother would get Mary to do her perm. Darlene was one of my friends and we would all play together at their house or ours whatever worked out. My condolences to all the family on your loss. - Posted by: Corinne Fix (Friend from long ago.) on: May 27, 2018

  • So sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Miller. She had such a presence in our neighborhood when I was growing up. A truly great lady who never thought twice about helping anyone out in need. Thoughts and prayers go out to all her children and family at this terribly sad time. - Posted by: Brenda Cabral (nee Fix) (Neighbour on Airlies Street) on: May 27, 2018
