ELSIE BERNICE TAYLER Bernice Tayler passed away peacefully on May 19, 2018, at the age of 90. She was predeceased by husband Ernest. She is survived by her son Ron (Deanna), daughter Janice (Max), granddaughter Carly (Jon) and great-grandson Logan, grandson Jason (Allison), and sisters, Lucille (Bert) and Priscilla. Bernice was born in Macgregor, Manitoba. In 1953, she married Ernest and they celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2013. Family was her most important priority and she excelled at the role of homemaker. She made a point of remembering what everyone liked and personalized each meal. She used to say that Ernest would not marry her until she learned to bake bread. Everything she made was done from scratch. Some of her specialties were cookies, pies, cakes, pickles, jams, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Mom was positive, passionate and caring. She was a great listener and always had a cup of tea and smile ready for everyone. In 2003, she earned a silver award from the Cancer Society for her many years of volunteer work. She was generous and giving of her time with family, friends and many cause driven organizations. She was happiest surrounded by loved ones and nature. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. Philip's Anglican Church, 240 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bernice's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 0R3. When Bernice's family lived in Lowe Farm we attended the Lowe Farm High School together. We spent a lot of time together in our homes. One summer we painted all the farm buildings for my Dad. Over the years we lost touch. Our condolences to all the family. Susan & Lawrence Giesbrecht - Posted by: Susan (Schroeder) Giesbrecht (High School friends) on: Jun 01, 2018

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. She was a very special lady, I was glad to have had a good visit with her recently. Janice it was nice you were able to be with her the last while for both of you. She would have appreciated it greatly and felt great comfort having you home. May all your precious memories bring you all comfort at this difficult time. - Posted by: Linda Hird (friend) on: May 31, 2018
