FRANCES GLADU It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Frances Gladu at the age of 59. She leaves behind her son Nathaniel; daughter Sarah (Michael); brothers, Ron and Maurice; sisters, Rhea (Bruce) and Anita; grandchildren, Corey and Kailee. As well as her many close friends and extended family. Fran was predeceased by her parents, James (Lloyd) and Louise; and her dear friend Janet. Fran was a strong, independent woman, a proud mother, a devoted grandmother, a loving friend, and the glue that tied her family together. Her happiest times were spent working away at her craft table, reading the works of her favourite authors, sitting down for movie marathon, and spending time with her grandchildren. She spent 30 years working in logistics, 16 of them at Locher Evers International, where she did what she loved. Growing her career and making friends. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of the many people she's touched. A funeral service with viewing and reception will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Fran's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.ca. I am saddened to hear of her sudden passing. I have very fond memories of Xmas eves spent at her house! Lots of food, loud wonderful talking and laughing! I will not be able to attend the funeral, as I live in Thunder Bay now, but I think my mother (Maureen) and a possibly sister (Pam) will attend. My sincerest condolences to all of you! Dear Nathaniel and Sarah, My deepest Condolences to you and to your Children (her precious Grandchildren). I worked with your Mom back in the KN Days. As a matter of fact we worked in the same area, just before she left KN. She had trained many persons through that department and we would laugh because she told me your the LAST Person I am going to train. I do believe I was, as she left for LEI shortly after. I know she loved you to pieces, because I was privy to the after school scolding's you took from her on the phone while we are work. Again, my heart breaks for your loss at this time.
