PETER PLETT October 16, 1923 - May 26, 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and brother. Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, Peter went to meet his heavenly father on May 26, 2018. Peter leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Dorothy, son Kurt, daughter Debbie (Ron), brother Vern, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Sara and Henry, sister Tina, and brothers, Henry and Jack. Peter was an avid outdoorsman, artist and athlete, capturing the 1952 Canadian Amateur Heavyweight Wrestling title. Peter spent 35 years working in the carpenter shop for the Manitoba Telephone System. Retiring at the age of 61, he spent many happy years with family and friends at the cottage he built on Dogtooth Lake. Peter and family were very appreciative of all the exceptional care he received from the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and the Deer Lodge Centre. We would like to extend a very sincere thank you to all the staff that took care of our husband and father. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for family and friends will take place on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). If friends wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation or a charity of your choice. You will always be in our hearts, we love you, we miss you, we always will. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Dear Auntie Dorthy, Kurt, Debbie and family, I am so very sorry to learn that Uncle Peter passed away. I am so glad that he died surrounded by the love of his family. I have very fond memories of Uncle Peter from my being so happy and pleased to receive a wood carving of the Lorel,i to his generous help in constructing several chair backs to an old oak dining room set I was refinishing. When people still admire it I bring up Uncle Peter's name and how he was so instrumental in my moving forward with my project. My childhood memories were also enhanced by all of you being there for holidays and family events. Thinking of you and your loss. With love, Lenore - Posted by: Lenore Platt (niece) on: Jun 02, 2018
