I knew Mr. Smith while I was a student at Peretz School. He was a lovely man, sweet and kind, and always a smile. Rest in peace, dear Mr. Smith. - Posted by: Evelyn Shwemer (Friend) on: Jun 07, 2018

My fondest memories are those of fishing with the Schmidt Family at Lockport and of Herb teaching me how to drive a " Three on The Tree". Herb also taught me and Herb jr. All about hard work the summer we painted the WHOLE IL Peretz School. What a lesson and I got $200.00 and all the Pepsi I could drink.(I hated that job and don't paint since). Herb was a great guy who would do just about anything for just about anybody anytime no questions asked, but if you got on the wrong side of him. Watch out! The nice thing was that it took just so much to get on the wrong side and you knew when you better back off. It's going to take some kind of miracle to find another man who will be willing to dedicate himself to his work and family like Herb did. I'll miss him and the things we did. - Posted by: David Grant (Family Friends) on: May 30, 2018
