ROBERT ALFRED TOWN Born on June 17, 1926 Passed away on April 9, 2018 Survived by Audrey (Lorne), Wendy (Hugh), Rick (Jane), Patti (Bob); 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Married to Mary (May) Agnes Town (née Saunders) for 68 years until her passing in 2014, his later years were marred by dementia. For our father, life was an adventure. A 50 year career in railroading, a short wartime Army stint, world travels, ice scuba diving starting in 1961, bowling, pilot's license, Shriner Motor Patrol and YMCA leadership and Special Olympics volunteer; those were just some of his pursuits that used the same adventurous spirit. Along with May, he imparted that life approach to all his children. We are grateful for that direction in our lives. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the dedicated care team at Deer Lodge Tower 3, especially Arlis Decorte, as they were superb in our father's final years. As well, Comforts of Home Care provided great comfort to dad particularly Cheri's caring and understanding ministrations. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Deer Lodge Center Foundation. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • To the Family, our sincere condolences and sympathy at this difficult time, we met your Bob and your Mother May when we joined the Khartum Motor Patrol in the 1970s and immediately hit it off, they were special people, who in recent years we did not see often, but we would receive a phone call from Bob to stop in he had something he wanted me to do,or look at, we shall miss those calls and visits, and we are sure that he will be happy having your Mom by his side again. May they rest in peace. May the many memories help heal the sorrow during this difficult time. Tom and Evelyn Johnstone - Posted by: Tom and Evelyn Johnstone (friends) on: Jun 03, 2018
