Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARLA DIANNE SKYNNER Carla Dianne Skynner passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2018. She was born in Winnipeg on January 5, 1961 and grew up in Fort Garry. She attended Vincent Massey High School and followed secondary education at the University of Manitoba, where she graduated with honours from the faculty of social work. She met and married Ian Lambert, a british national, in 1988, and settled with him in Norwich. Carla embraced life in England, she found it quaint and beautiful. While there, she established her career in social work and enjoyed her English family and friends. Carla eventually returned to Canada on her own and took up residence in Ottawa where her brother lived. She later moved back to Winnipeg. Carla was predeceased by her father H. John Skynner (Jack), her mother Kathleen (nee Schioler) and her brother Henry John. Carla loved reading myriad books simultaneously, always non-fiction. Intelligence and humour were her trademark. She was a thinker, quiet, profound, and at times provocative. She sought peace of mind and spiritual enrichment. She had a huge capacity to love. Carla was loved dearly and will be missed by family and friends who are invited to attend an evening of remembrance on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., 206 Larchdale Crescent, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
