Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAREN DAWN REE (nee KING) August 21, 1964 May 30, 2018 Karen lived a full life and was a bundle of energy. If she was your friend she was there for life. Karen grew up in Charleswood and later moved to Ile Des Chenes in 1972, where she remained. Karen is survived by her husband Vern; son Devon; stepdaughters, Cyndy and Judy and Boots (her beloved Border Collie). She will also be missed by her mother Joan King; brothers, Keith (Cheryl), Willie (Linda) and sisters, Paula and Sharon (Kevin); as well as many nieces and nephews who she loved and adored. She was predeceased by her father Bill. Karen started her work life in the restaurant her mother owned and then went on to work at Food Systems in the cafeteria of Pollard Bank Note. She joined Pollard two years later, where she enjoyed making the 25 year club. She was very proud to be part of that company and loved working there. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. To Aunt Joan, Willie, Sharron, Paula, Vern and Devon, Cyndy and Judy. We just heard today of Karen's passing and also of Keith's passing. We are deeply saddened by this news and know they will be missed greatly. I remember every Christmas night, spending time with them and the rest of the family at Grandma and Grandpa King's. What a bustling crowded house and, yes, Karen sure seemed she was a bundle of energy. Many years have passed and we've moved away but those memories remain. We offer our condolences even at this late date because we know that missing someone doesn't go away just because time has passed.
