Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I met Doug through a mutual friend (Jay McIntosh). I remember many evenings spent with Doug, Jay, Fred Bryans and Don Chrest, having a few drinks and discussing philosophy or listening to music. Doug was quick witted and funny, but also a very deep thinker and voracious reader. I miss all of these guys as Jay and Don have also left us. RIP Doug. See you on the other side. - Posted by: Denis Vandale (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2018

  • Came across this while viewing other notices and so sorry to hear about Doug's passing. My condolences to Angie, Mitch and family. Hope you can reflect on the many years of laughter and happiness to bring you some comfort and joy at this time. My prayers. - Posted by: Duane Galston (Friend/Co-worker) on: Jun 21, 2018

  • Doug you were a very large part of our family for many years when we lived in Winnipeg and remained a large part through phone calls, computer, and the few visits we had. Our kids will always remember you by the way you signed their Birthday and Christmas cards with Doug and a little hand drawn duck. In our hearts we will miss you but we will always remember you. - Posted by: Denis and Vonnie Baisarowicz (friend ) on: Jun 13, 2018

  • Doug was one of the most terrific people I have known. Very wise, very funny and very kind. He loved music and was also a very talented artist. He found his soul mate with Angela, who brought out even more of the best of Doug. I am sorry that I missed a lot of years of contact with Doug (living in a different province), which makes his passing even more sad for me. He is not gone from my heart or my memories though. - Posted by: Gladys Kusmack (friend) on: Jun 12, 2018

  • Doug was a very good friend of my older brother Morey and he became a friend of all our family. Many years ago Doug would drop by our place in St. James late in the evening and we would sit up talking and laughing well into the night. I can still remember so many of his stories, jokes and observations of life. And how he made us laugh! Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. - Posted by: Lisa Martin (Genthon) (Friend) on: Jun 05, 2018
