LAJOS (LOUIS) VAMOS It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle, on Thursday, June 7, 2018, in Winnipeg at the age of 90 years. Left to survive Louis are his beloved wife and soulmate Renate; daughter Susan (Doug); grandsons, Sean, Eric (Lea) and Frank; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Declan and Brielle, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son Manfred. Louis was proprietor of Vamos Fine Furs for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of the Rotary Club and the Hungarian Club. Through his early travels Louis learned many languages and was passionate about reading news from all over the world and discussing current events. He will be remembered for being a happy, welcoming and generous host, always putting others first and caring deeply for his family. On Thursday, June 14, 2018 Louis' Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment will follow in Transcona Cemetery, 5014 Dugald Road. Special thanks to doctors and staff at Concordia Hospital, and also to friends and neighbours who have helped. Dearest Renate, We will always remember Louis and you as our wonderful neighbours from Stronsay Place. For years we have searched periodically for your address to keep in touch - with no success. So, it is with great sadness that we have finally found a trace of your whereabouts. Please accept our condolences on the passing of "Uncle Wooey" as our boys always called our dear friend.
