VICTOR JOSEPH MEDER 1936 - 2018 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that I, Lynn Veters, announce the passing of my partner and soul mate of 38 years, Victor Meder, on June 3, 2018 at the age of 81. Left to cherish his memory are his special nieces, Diana (Ed), Kimberly, Caleb, Noah, and Kelly, Debby (Mario) and Gina; Lynn's family, Debbie (Sam), Brenda (Sid), Cheryl, Gage, Bryanna and Kai; Aaron (Jaelene), Ariel and Ryker, Michael, Breanne (Shawn) and Nixon, Ryan and Brandice. Vic was predeceased by his parents, Katherine and Jacob; brothers, Peter and Frank; sister Josie (George), and far too soon grandson Jason (2017). Vic became an instant Papa upon meeting Lynn. He enjoyed this role immensely and loved being involved in their lives. He loved family gatherings. He was a man of few words but those little ones knew how to get his biggest smiles. We were very fortunate in having many good years of travelling to the U.S., especially Hawaii, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Jamaica; as well as by car and bus destinations. Vic was diagnosed with Dementia six and a half years ago and became a resident of the Irene Baron Eden Centre. The care he received was exceptional and everyone loved him. I was fortunate to be a volunteer and was able to partake in the activities with him. They all loved to see Vic "dressed up", he always looked great and always received lots of compliments from the girls. Thank you!!! Vic was a proud firefighter for 35 years, retiring as Captain. Special thanks to the Winnipeg Fire / Paramedics for their amazing caring efforts. A private family time will be had in his honour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Firefighters Burn Fund. Rest in peace my love. Till we meet again. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

  • My sincerest condolences to you Lynn & family! It was great to know him over the past 6 years. I loved coming into work every morning and seeing him sitting in the foyer reading his paper, or reorganizing the chairs in the gathering room. He would always take a moment to say Good Morning! Vic was a huge part of the IBEC family and helped out so much throughout the home. He held a special place in my heart. Vic will be missed by me as well as everyone that knew him. Love & prayers to you Lynn.....take care!! - Posted by: Vanessa (Friend from IBEC) on: Jun 09, 2018
