Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK ALEX RYDER It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Alex Ryder on June 3, 2018. His memory will be kept alive by Mickie (McWilliam) his wife of 57 years; his beloved children, Erroll, Dawn (Bruce Marks), Sheldon and grandchildren, Mia and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his son Miles in 1996 and sister Valerie Fraser in 2002. Jack was born March 23, 1937 in Regina and moved to Hines Creek where he lived on a farm with his mother and stepfather Anne and Floyd Evans. After high school, he began his sales career in clothing in Edmonton, moving his family to Calgary in 1965 and then to Winnipeg in 1975. He left the clothing industry in the late 1980s, to pursue his passion for cars. He was well liked in both industries by fellow salesman and customers. Jack retired at 78 and had been enjoying life since then. Jack was the life of the party - his sense of humour and rumbling laughter (usually at his own jokes) created the spirit and energy of our family gatherings which always included extended family and friends. We will be toasting Jack each time we are together to remember the good old days. A celebration of his life will take place at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Mickie, Erroll, Dawn, Sheldon, It was a shock and I was saddened to hear about Jack passing. I have a lot of fond memories of him and the whole family from my younger years. I especially remember the time Miles ended up in the lake by accident and Jack and Bob had to get him out. My condolences to all of you can in a difficult time.
